Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the Clean Photos: Storage Cleaner mobile application (“Clean Photos: Storage Cleaner,” the “App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the App or visit this website. Clean Photos: Storage Cleaner is operated by the developer identified on its App Store product page.

2. Information the App accesses

The App requests each permission only when it is needed for a feature you choose to use. Depending on the permissions you grant, the App may access:

• Photos and videos. With your permission, Apple PhotoKit provides access to all or selected library items.
• Media metadata. The App may process local asset identifiers, media type, dimensions, duration, creation date, favorite status, and Apple-provided media subtypes such as screenshots or screen recordings.
• Device storage information. The App reads total and available storage values so it can display storage information.
• Contacts.With your permission, the App reads the contacts you allow, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, organization and job information, postal and URL addresses, birthdays, and contact images. It uses this information on your device to identify possible duplicates, explain matches, preview a merge, and recommend which entry to keep. If you confirm a merge, the App updates the contact you chose to keep and deletes the other selected duplicate entries through Apple's Contacts framework.
• Calendar events.With full Calendar permission, the App reads events from calendars that allow changes, including event identifiers, titles, start and end times, all-day and recurring status, and calendar names. It uses this information on your device to find events that have already ended. The App deletes only the past events you select and confirm, using Apple's EventKit framework.
• App choices. Choices such as whether to allow an iCloud download are handled locally in the App.

The App does not require an account and does not request access to your precise location, microphone, messages, or payment card details.

3. On-device analysis and local storage

The App creates small, derived visual fingerprints to compare media and identify potentially similar items. These fingerprints are not copies of your photos or videos. Photo fingerprints may be cached in the App’s private local cache to make later scans faster.

Library content, thumbnails, scan results, asset identifiers, derived fingerprints, contact data, duplicate-contact results, calendar data, and past-event results are not transmitted to servers operated by us or to advertising or analytics providers. Contact and calendar results may be held temporarily in memory while you use those features. Local media cache data may remain until it is pruned, the operating system clears it, or you uninstall the App.

4. iCloud Photos

The App can review metadata for items visible through Apple PhotoKit. By default, media that is available only in iCloud is not downloaded for detailed analysis. If you enable an iCloud download option, PhotoKit may request the necessary media from Apple’s iCloud service.

That transfer is handled by Apple between iCloud and your device. The App does not receive your Apple Account credentials and does not route iCloud media through our servers. Apple’s own terms and privacy policy apply to iCloud.

5. Permissions and your choices

Photo Library, Contacts, and Calendar permissions are separate and optional. You can grant or deny each permission and later change or revoke it in iOS or iPadOS Settings. For Photos and, on supported system versions, Contacts, you may be able to limit which items the App can access. A feature may be incomplete or unavailable when its required permission is limited or disabled; other features can still be used if they have the permissions they need.

You independently control the App’s iCloud download options. Turning an option off prevents the App from requesting a network download for the related analysis or preview.

6. Changes to your content

The App never deletes media automatically. You select the items and confirm the action in the App, and Apple Photos presents its own system confirmation. Deleted items are then managed by Apple Photos, including any Recently Deleted recovery period.

If iCloud Photos is enabled, a deletion may sync to other devices using the same Apple Account. The App does not control Apple’s sync, recovery, or permanent-deletion behavior.

A contact merge occurs only after you choose the entry to keep and confirm the merge. The App copies available information into that entry and deletes the other selected entries. The App cannot undo a completed merge. Contacts services such as iCloud may sync those changes to your other devices.

A calendar deletion occurs only after you select and confirm past events. Calendar providers may sync those deletions to your other devices. Recovery, synchronization, and backup behavior are controlled by Apple or your calendar provider, not by the App.

7. Purchases

If the App offers an in-app purchase or subscription, Apple processes the transaction. We do not receive or store your payment card details. The App may read Apple-provided purchase status solely to unlock, restore, or manage access to purchased features.

8. Information we collect

The current App does not include third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs. We do not operate an account system or a content-processing server, and we do not collect your photo library, contacts, or calendar events for our own use.

If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, device details, and support message. We use it only to respond, investigate the issue, protect the service, and comply with applicable law.

9. Website data

This website does not add advertising trackers or behavioral analytics. Its hosting provider may automatically process basic request information—such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp, and security logs—to deliver and protect the website. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy notices.

10. Sharing and sale of information

We do not sell or rent personal information. Because the App's media, contact, and calendar processing is local, we do not share your photos, videos, derived fingerprints, contacts, or calendar events with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.

We may disclose information you send to support if required by law, necessary to protect legal rights or safety, or needed by a service provider acting on our instructions to deliver support or host this website.

11. Retention and deletion

Local App data is controlled through your device. You can remove it by uninstalling the App, subject to normal operating-system storage behavior. Removing the App does not reverse changes already made to Apple Photos, Contacts, calendars, iCloud, or other sync providers.

Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to answer your request, maintain security and records, or satisfy legal obligations. You may ask us to delete support information that we control, subject to applicable exceptions.

12. Children

The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to support may contact us to request its deletion.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information we control, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. Because we do not receive your media, contacts, or calendar events, that information is controlled directly through your device and the services with which it syncs. Contact us for requests involving support communications or website data we control.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes or when legal requirements evolve. We will update the date above and provide any additional notice required by law. If we later add analytics, advertising, accounts, cloud processing, or other material data practices, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before those practices apply.
