Deleted something by mistake?

Open Apple Photos, go to Recently Deleted, select the item, and tap Recover if Apple still makes it available. The App cannot bypass or extend Apple’s recovery period.

Common questions

Quick answers

Does the App upload my content?

No. Media, contact, and calendar processing runs on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your media, visual fingerprints, contacts, or calendar events.

Why are some items unavailable?

Media may be stored only in iCloud, outside your limited Photo Library selection, or temporarily unavailable to Apple Photos. Contacts can also be outside a limited selection. Review each permission in system Settings or choose an iCloud download where the App offers that option.

What happens after I delete an item?

The App sends your confirmed request to Apple Photos. Apple manages the item in Recently Deleted and may sync the deletion through iCloud Photos to your other devices.

Can similarity results be wrong?

Yes. Similarity is an estimate influenced by crops, lighting, edits, motion, metadata, and file availability. Always preview every selection before confirming deletion.
