Terms of Use

These terms explain what Clean Photos: Storage Cleaner provides, what remains under your control, and the conditions that apply when you use the App.

Effective and last updated: July 20, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Clean Photos: Storage Cleaner mobile application, this website, and related support services (collectively, the “Service”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Apple Standard End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”) also applies to the App unless a custom license agreement is presented through the App Store. These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA regarding the license to use the App, the Apple Standard EULA controls.

2. What the App does

Clean Photos: Storage Cleaner is a storage organization utility for compatible Apple devices. It can help you review similar photos, screenshots, videos, screen recordings, and other supported media; identify possible duplicate contacts and merge entries you select; and find past calendar events for deletion. The App presents information and recommendations so that you can make your own decisions about what to keep, merge, or remove.

The App does not expand your device’s physical storage, permanently erase Apple Photos recovery folders, repair damaged media, guarantee that two items are duplicates, or guarantee any particular amount of recovered storage.

3. Eligibility and device requirements

You must have legal capacity to agree to these Terms. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must supervise and authorize your use. You are responsible for using a compatible device, supported operating system, and valid Apple Account where required.

4. Photos, Contacts, and Calendar permissions

The App requests Apple PhotoKit permission for media features, Contacts permission for duplicate detection and merging, and full Calendar permission for finding and deleting past events. These permissions are separate. You decide whether to grant them and can change your choices in system Settings. Where Apple offers limited access, you decide which items the App can use. A feature may be incomplete or unavailable when its required permission is limited, revoked, or restricted by the device.

5. Scan results and recommendations

Similarity analysis is probabilistic. Lighting, crops, edits, motion, file availability, iCloud status, metadata, and device limitations can affect results. Items placed in the same group may not be true duplicates, and items that look similar to you may not be grouped.

Labels such as “recommended to keep” are organizational suggestions, not guarantees of quality, uniqueness, importance, or recoverability. You must preview and evaluate media before selecting it for deletion.

6. Deletion, backups, and iCloud

You remain solely responsible for deletion and merge choices. The App requires you to select media and confirm a deletion request, after which Apple Photos presents a system confirmation. Before deleting important media, maintain an independent backup and verify the items selected.

Apple Photos controls Recently Deleted, recovery windows, permanent deletion, and iCloud Photos synchronization. If iCloud Photos is enabled, deletion may propagate to other devices using the same Apple Account. The App cannot stop or reverse Apple’s synchronization once the system processes your confirmed request.

When you confirm a contact merge, the selected contact is updated and the other selected duplicate entries are deleted. When you confirm a calendar cleanup, the selected past events are deleted. The App cannot undo completed contact merges or calendar deletions. iCloud and other account providers may sync these changes to your other devices, so review your selections and maintain appropriate backups before confirming.

7. iCloud downloads and network use

Detailed analysis or preview of media stored only in iCloud may require a download to your device. The App keeps network access for these requests off by default and exposes controls where relevant. If you enable a download, you are responsible for resulting network usage, carrier charges, time, battery use, and device storage.

8. Free and paid features

The App may offer free functionality, one-time purchases, auto-renewable subscriptions, introductory offers, or trials. The exact product, duration, price, billing period, included features, and trial terms shown in the App and Apple purchase sheet at the time of purchase control your transaction.

  • Payment is processed by Apple through your Apple Account.
  • An auto-renewable subscription continues for the displayed period until you cancel it through your Apple Account settings.
  • Cancellation normally takes effect after the current paid period; deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • If a free trial is offered, the purchase screen will state its duration and the amount charged when the trial ends.
  • If eligible purchases are offered, the App may provide a Restore Purchases control.
  • Apple handles billing, cancellation, refund decisions, taxes, and payment-method issues under its applicable terms.

We may change future prices or offerings as permitted by Apple and applicable law. Any required notice or consent will be handled through the App Store or the App.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in violation of applicable law.
  • Interfere with the Service, attempt unauthorized access, or bypass purchase and entitlement controls.
  • Reverse engineer, copy, modify, or redistribute the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Use the Service to infringe another person’s privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.

10. Ownership

Clean Photos: Storage Cleaner and its software, visual design, text, branding, and other Service materials are owned by or licensed to the App developer and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, subject to Apple’s usage rules.

You retain all rights in your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, and other content. The App does not claim ownership of that content.

11. Apple and third-party services

Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for the App except as required by law. Your use of the App Store, Apple Photos, Contacts, Calendar, iCloud, StoreKit, your device, sync or calendar providers, and network provider remains subject to their separate terms. We are not responsible for outages, changes, or data handling controlled by those third parties.

12. Availability and changes

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features; adjust device and operating-system requirements; or release updates. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available in every country, language, device, or App version.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation, perfect similarity detection, guaranteed storage savings, or recovery of deleted media. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of media, data, profits, or opportunity, arising from use of the Service. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the App during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, or address a serious violation of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability—will continue to apply.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, Apple requirements, or applicable law. The updated date will appear above. Where required, we will provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Service after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

17. Governing terms

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the App developer, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
